Child Care Resource and Referral of Central Wisconsin, Inc. is guided by its vision for all Central Wisconsin children to benefit from the best child care possible. CCR&RCW strives to become the key resource of comprehensive services to enhance quality child care.

Description:
CCR&RCW serves families by referring to regulated providers, providing materials on how to select care and counseling on quality child care choices. Child care programs are supported by offering continuing education, newsletters and technical assistance. Lastly, employers and the community are served by building the supply of child care, developing community awareness and generating statistical data.

History:
Child Care Resource and Referral agencies grew out of the child care movement in an attempt to assist families with their child care choices and expand both the quantity and quality of care in the state. The first two resource and referral agencies were formed in the early 1970’s. Today, 8 private, nonprofit, community –based hub agencies provide services that encompass all Wisconsin counties. The Child Care Resource & Referral Center of Wood County was established in 1988, with a grant from the State of Wisconsin. In July of 1993, the agency acquired Adams and Clark Counties through expansion of Child Care Resource & Referral services by the state. In September of 1993, the Board of Directors voted to change the agency’s name to Child Care Resource & Referral of Central Wisconsin, Inc. In January of 2010, the agency acquired Marquette, Portage, and Waushara Counties.
