Agency - Meals On Wheels

To promote the health, independence and well being of older adults through the provision of home delivered nutritious meals in a way that offers opportunities for socialization and provides information and assistance in obtaining community services and resources.

Description:
The Meals on Wheels program delivers a noon meal each day. Meals are diet specific as ordered by the recipients doctor. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday on 12 different routes, from three meal sites All meals are delivered by volunteers.

History:
Meals on Wheels was started by the Stevens Point Women's Club in 1971. The program started with 6 - 8 home delivered meals each day.
