Family Connections in Portage County improves the lives of children by providing education, information and support to their parents.

Description:
Family Connections is Portage County's family resource center. We are a universal support system for all families in Portage County and a central point for family service organizations. We strive to provide child-centered activities, resources, educaiton and support to all families in Portage County. We provide parent education workshops on all topics relevant to parenting: development, communication, discipline, health & wellness. Our parent education workshops are held at our main location during the day and in the evening, in outlying areas such as Rosholt, Amherst and Junction City, and at area businesses to their employees. We also organize and sponsor family outings throughout the community to provide families with unique experiences they can share together.

History:
The Family Resource Centers have been in operation in Portage County for approximately 10 years. Initially located at the YMCA building in Stevens Point, the main office is now within the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum building at 1100 Main Street, downtown Stevens Point.
