Aging And Disability Resource Center Of Central Wisconsin
| Last updated on October 14, 2011 |
The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin promotes choice and independence through personalized education, advocacy, and access to services that prevent, delay and lessen the impacts of aging and disabilities in the lives of adults.
Description:
Our agency depends upon volunteers to assist seniors and disabled adults. We need volunteers to help make our community a better place. Volunteer drivers provide transportation to medical appointments. Volunteers at our senior dining sites assist with packing food for home delivered meals, dining room set-up, cafeteria style serving, and clean-up. Volunteers also assist with greeting guests, providing music or activities. Volunteers deliver home delivered meals throughout the county to seniors who are homebound. Our Volunteer Senior Home Safety Repair program requires volunteers who will assist with minor home repairs, such as installing grab bars, hand rails, and ramps.
History:
The Aging and Disability Resource Center began in 1974 as the Department of Aging. It is funded by federal, state, and county money along with participants' contributions.
