WRCT was established in 1975 as a community theater whose purpose is to bring live theater to the community presenting Broadway-type shows showcasing local talent. Also offers children's productions, workshops and special theatrical productions.
Description:
The WRCT office is located in the east end of the Rapids Mall and staffed 10 am - 1 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Closed on Thursday. Tickets for all the productions can be purchased at the office. After a successful capitol campaign to build a new theatre in the Centralia Center, construction was completed in October of 2007. A variety of events/activities are held in the facility. The theatre is available to the community for this purpose as well as "the home" to WRCT productions.
History:
WRCT was established in 1975 for the purpose of showcasing local talent in their productions. The theatre produces 4 productions per year and sponsors annual summer children's productions. They have also expanded their outreach activities to include the Silver Foxes shows, Playreading, Variety of Workshops,Improv. Comedy, a Youth Drama Club and many other special events.
