The Wood County Health Department's mission is assuring health, protecting the environment and preventing disease.

Description:
The Wood County Health Department consists of 27 employees; public health nurses, environmental health sanitarians, health educators, public health aides, office staff and WIC staff. The department offers many programs to the public, and also maintains other programs in-house, protecting the health and safety of county residents.

Some of our programs include vaccine clinics, parent and child health programming, breastfeeding assistance and product sales, child passenger safety, Cribs for Kids, work site wellness, chronic disease prevention, communicable disease follow-up, emergency preparedness planning, restaurant inspections, water testing, Healthy Smiles dental program, tobacco control, WIC, and many more.
