American Red Cross-North Central Wisconsin

Disaster Support and Relief due to fire, flood, and natural disasters (i.e. hurricanes, earthquakes, etc...). Provide disaster preparedness and prevention education.

Description:
Our agency works in cooperation with local, state, and federal government agencies in times of disasters and public emergencies. The American Red Cross operates under a federal congressional charter that charges the American Red Cross to provide these services.

Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30.

History:
The Portage County Chapter received it's Charter in 1917. As of April 2006, the Portage County Chapter also serves seven other counties in Wisconsin. The additional counties are Adams, Forest, Iron, Lincoln, Langlade, Oneida, and Vilas.

Volunteer's from the Portage County Chapter have assisted in many national disaster incidents such as World Trade Center Event, Hurricanes Ivan, Rita, Wilma, and Katrina. Portage County American Red Cross (PCARC) volunteers have also assisted in numerous State incidents throughout the years as well.

The administrative office is located at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Helen Street. This is just south of Duralum Carpets.
