Dressed To Work is a community effort to build the self-esteem and preserve the dignity of income-eligible people interviewing and entering the local workforce by providing appropriate clothing.

Description:
We provide, at no cost, good quality, "gently work" clothing for men and women that is appropriate for job interviews or work environments where business casual, dress or "office" clothing is needed. The clothing is primarily donated by the community, however we have the ability to purchase special needs items also. We use volunteers to sort and display the clothing, meet with the clients to select clothing and to serve on our board and special committees or projects.

History:
The organization was initiated in March 2000 with meetings attended by various community organization representatives. We began to serve clients in August 2001 and later incorporated and received 501(c)3 status from the IRS. We operate solely with the help of volunteers and cash donations from individuals and community groups or foundations. We do not have any paid staff. The clients we serve are low-income men and women who have been referred from other agencies and organizations and generally number 50-65 per year.
