Board Position |

Interest in serving the elderly and disabled population. Clients live on limited incomes. Board members needed for all committees, including personnel, finance, as well as fund raising. Advocacy for agency. Board members are held to the following expectations:
- Regularly attend and prepare for the four (March, June, September, and December) board meetings per year for a three year term.
- Ability to periodically suggest agenda items and ask timely questions.
- Makes serious commitment to participate actively in committee work.
- Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.
- Stays informed about committee matters, prepares themselves well for meetings and reviews and comments on minutes and reports, including understanding the programs financial reports.
- Gets to know other committee members and builds a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus.
- Counsel and support the Executive Director
- Is an active participant in the committee's annual evaluation and planning efforts.
- Participate in fund raising for the organization.
- Support majority decisions.
- Consider give an annual gift to the AUGS Foundation according to personal means
- Support the Society’s mission, goals, policies, programs, strengths and needs
- List Board membership on bios and CVs
- Notify staff when attending a meeting or conference on issues that might be of interest to the program
