Almond School offers a program called the After Hours Center (AHC). AHC students are able to spend their time from 3:30 - 5:30P.M. working on missing, late, or current homework along with learning new skills from presenters. The AHC is looking for help with this program for one to three days per week (Mondays-Fridays) to help students with their math, science, English, and social studies. Along with the core subjects we also have time to run art projects, play board games, go on treasure hunts, and come up with all sorts of activities and programs where the students can relate to their surroundings and learn a lesson. Volunteers are requested to help with these activities as well. The goal is to connect students with the people and community around them so that they will, in turn, learn how to become responsible and caring community members. If you are interested in helping out even for just one day we would certainly appreciate it. This is a win-win situation for all.
All volunteers go through an orientation of the club, including the daily operations, responsibilities of the position and the Almond-Bancroft School District Policies and Procedures. This opportunity is sponsored by: Almond-Bancroft School District
