The Flex Program is an innovative way to provide flexible one-time volunteer opportunities to busy community members while making a big impact on community programs. The FLEX Program cannot run without Team Leaders! By becoming a Team Leader, you join a group of Portage County’s finest leadership volunteers. Team Leaders play an active role in helping the Volunteer Center mobilize hundreds of volunteers each year!

Being a Team Leader is a great way to develop leadership skills, strengthen job applications, and enhance your career or simply to put your gifts to use – all of which can be done by committing just a few hours of your time each month!

Team Leader Responsibilities:
• Make a commitment to help manage a volunteer project for a few hours each month.
• Are the primary contact at each project.
• Act as a liaison between the Volunteer Center and the organization.
• Respond to volunteer questions about the project and ensure that the project runs smoothly.
• Complete attendance and impact information after the project.

Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years old and willing to complete a background screening.
• E-mail access is necessary.
• Comfortable leading a group of diverse volunteers, and be committed to making a difference in the community.
• Organization: this is key to a successful project!
• Management and motivation: keep volunteers engaged and connected.
• Communication: an essential skill from the first communication with the volunteer to the thank you at the end of the project; must be outgoing.

Time Commitment:
• Commit to leading one project every three months, with a minimum of three total projects.
• Attend an hour introductory training session.
